PATTANI -- A young man was killed and another wounded in a gun attack while travelling on a motorcycle in Yaring district late on Saturday night, police said. Pol Capt Somchok Mankhong, the duty of Yaring police station, said the incident occurred at about 11.10pm on Highway 42 (Pattani - Narathiwat) in front of the mosque of Ban To-ti-te in tambon Baloy. He identified the killed as Asman Mudwan, 19, and the wounded Ibrahim Maming, 19. Asman, the pillion rider, was hit once in the chest and killed instantly. Police were investigating whether the attack was related to insurgency or a personal conflict.
